My name is Dayna and I am 25 years old. I have lived in California my entire life and will probably never leave the area I grew up in. I am a HUUUUGE Celine Dion fan and if people don't like that, too bad! I have the best parents in the world. Having a child be born with a rare genetic condition is never easy, but my parents have never made me feel unwanted or unloved. I spent three years at a community college and earned my AA degree in Liberal Studies, then I followed that with an AAS degree in Medical Office Administration. I finished school and graduated in January 2008, but have yet to find a job, which is extremely frustrating. 2008 was the worst year of my life. In March I had severe knee pain which lead me to the University of San Francisco Medical Center where I found out I have the early stages of arthritis. On June 5th, I was hit with yet another medical shocker...I have ulcerative colitis. It is a condition that affects the colon/large intestine and causes inflammation and ulcerations within the colon. There is no cure, only medications but those do not always work and a person could end up having their entire colon removed. Life keeps throwing crap at me and I am doing the best I can to survive and be a better person because of all my struggles. |
